Ivan H. Yoder, 81, entered the gates of heaven on August 2, 2019, greeted by his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born December 4, 1937, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Henry and Mary (Mast) Yoder.

On April 21, 1957, Ivan married Polly N. Miller. Three children were born to this union.

Along with his wife Polly and their sons, Ivan owned and operated Yoder Ornamental Concrete in Burrton for 36 years. Prior to that, he and Polly operated Yoder TV Service in Hutchinson. He was an avid music lover, playing bass for the band, 'Singing Country Strings', for many years. In his later years, Ivan played with the praise team at his church. There wasn't an instrument he wouldn't tackle - he loved the challenge of picking up an instrument and making music with it, and it was all entirely by ear. Ivan also loved to cook and there are many good memories of him  explaining just what went in a recipe to make it so good. Of course, without measurements!

Ivan is survived by: his wife, Polly of 62 years; daughter, Brenda Janzen (Ken), Henderson, NE; son, Donald Yoder (Doris), Burrton;  grandchildren, Greg Yoder (Leah), Glendale, CA, Jeremy Janzen (Amy), Henderson, NE, Jason Janzen (Amy), Dodge City, Ashley Goertzen (John), Henderson, NE; 9 great-grandchildren, Gavriel, Riley, Anna, Lilly, Blake, Jonah, Emma, Frank and Henry; brother, Emery Yoder (Mary Ellen), Parsons; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Those preceding him in their homecoming were: his son, Carl Douglas; his parents; four brothers; one sister; and stepmother, Laura Yoder.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 11303 E. Longview Rd., Burrton. Burial will follow in Burrton Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
