YODER - Ivan Yutzy, 86, died July 29, 2009, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
He was born Feb. 16, 1923 at Limon, Colo., the son of Reuben and Catherine Troyer Yutzy.
He moved with his family to Reno County in 1936. He, along with his brothers Paul and Gilbert, purchased Roth Food Locker in Yoder in 1965 and it became YB Meats (Yutzy Brothers). He retired from the business in 1982.
He was a member of the Journey At Yoder Church, formerly the Yoder Mennonite Church, and was a former board member of Central Kansas Credit Union.
He married Anna Ruth Yoder on Aug. 25, 1950 at Yoder. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jim Yutzy, and his wife Linda, and Steve Yutzy, both of Haven; two daughters, Shirley Kitch, and husband Gayland, Moore, Okla., and Kay Parks, and husband Jim, Wichita; two brothers, R. Paul Yutzy, Yoder, and Gilbert Yutzy, Haven; a sister Stella Reber, Midland, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Journey At Yoder. Burial will be in the Journey At Yoder Church Cemetery. The family will host a visitation 5 to 8 p.m. today, also at the church.
