Jack B. Barnes, 69, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born April 9, 1944, to Ray L. and Mildred Hickman Barnes in Hutchinson.

He attended Hutchinson High School and graduated in 1962 and he received his degree in pharmacy from the University of Kansas in 1973.

He was in the United States Navy and spent five years in Japan in the 1960's.

On March 9, 2002, he married Paula Schrandt in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.

Other survivors include: daughter, Heather Lagergren and husband Nathan, Kansas City, Mo.; granddaughters, Rose and Lily Lagergren, Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Michael Barnes, Aurora, Ohio; nephews, Greg Barnes and Steve Barnes, both of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Jim Rhaesa presiding. Burial to follow in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
