Obituary

Jack W. Kipp, 70, of Hutchinson, died June 23, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 6, 1948, to Jack Wilbur and Lorraine (Ellswick) Kipp, in Hutchinson.

Jack was a 1966 graduate of Haven High School. He worked as a Corrections Supervisor at Hutchinson Correctional Facility and retired after 30 years of service. Jack enjoyed watching Westerns, was an avid John Wayne fan, and a devout Christian. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson. Jack's greatest joy was being around his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the love of his life.

On May 20, 1967, he married Kathy Owens, in Hutchinson. They shared 52 years of marriage.

Jack is survived by: wife, Kathy Kipp; sons, Jack (fiancée, Cathy Evans) Kipp, Hutchinson, Jerry (Melanie) Kipp, Hutchinson, Jody (Katrina) Kipp, Derby; daughter, Jami (Darren) Quick, Hutchinson; son, Jon (Dawn) Kipp, Hutchinson; sister, Terry Jones; cousin, William Williamson; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019, at First Southern Baptist Church, 1201 E. 23rd, Hutchinson, with Dr. Roy Jaye officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice House, Hutchinson, or Casa de mi Padre Orphanage, Guatemala, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
