Jack Eugene Robinson was born Jan. 28,1931, in Hutchinson, the son of Carl and Mildred (Morris) Robinson. Jack died July 13, 2007, at his home in Louisburg, Mo. at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 15 days.
Jack spent his early years in the Hutchinson area until enlisting in the U.S Air Force. After one tour of duty, he enlisted in the U.S Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. At the completion of his enlistment, he worked at the local refinery during which time he earned his degree in business administration. He later became an owner and operator of an over-the-road truck.
He had many interests and hobbies. During his golden years, he made a motorcycle trip from Canton to Key West, Fla. with his two sons, Glenn and Tom, and several friends. His most recent adventure involved a different type of horsepower, a trail ride in Eminence, Mo., with wife Ramona.
He enjoyed going to the Coffee Cup Caf and visiting with friends at the "smart table." He was also an active member of Freedom Chapel Baptist Church in Urbana, Mo.
Survivors include: his wife, Ramona, Louisburg, Mo.; two sons, Glenn and wife, Rahila, Lee's Summit, Mo., Tom Robinson, Salem, Neb.; two step-children, Lisa Carpenter, Urbana, Mo., John and wife, Meranda Dowell, Long Lane, Mo.; six grandchildren, Jamie and husband, Dennis Toia, Garnett, Jennifer and husband, Dustin Orth, Virginia Beach, Va., Kristen and husband, Andrew Nelson, Lindsborg, Dusten Robinson, Olathe, Josh Robinson, Galva, and Ethan Robinson, Lee's Summit, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Madison and Malia Toia, and Tucker Nelson, Lindsborg; two step great-grandchildren, Chanch and Westley Carpenter, Urbana, Mo.; a brother, Mike Robinson, Hutchinson,; four sisters, Carlene Wiens, Nickerson, Georgia Pierson, Hutchinson, Karen Robinson, Hutchinson, and Corliss Stinbrink, Knoxville, Tenn.; plus a considerable number of nieces, nephews, and friends who will dearly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Tull.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at Eastside Cemetery with Pastor Luke Helmuth presiding.
