Jack R. Rucker, 77, of Hutchinson, died April 8, 2012, at Hospice House.

Jack was born Nov. 10, 1934, in Hutchinson, the son of Ray and Jeanette (Seitnater) Rucker.

A lifelong Hutchinson resident, he was a 1952 graduate of St. Teresa's High School and was a member of the National Guard Unit in Hutchinson. Jack was a long-time member of Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Council #612, and Holy Name Society, both of the church. Jack was co-owner of Janitorial Supply, Inc. in Hutchinson. Prior to his involvement with the supply company, he owned and operated Wheatland Printing, and later worked at ACS Printing. After his retirement, he was active with Meals on Wheels.

Jack married Erma O'Neal on Nov. 20, 1954, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: children, Charles Sundgren and wife Kay, Richland, Wash., Vickie Broxterman and husband Bob, Topeka, Gary Rucker and wife Stacy, Hutchinson, Mary Pessaran and husband David, Folsom, Calif., and Mark Rucker and wife Suzanne, Tonganoxie; a son-in-law, Jeff Taylor, Auburn; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a daughter, Janet Taylor in 2001.

Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church in South Hutchinson, with Fr. Brian Nelson presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the church, with a family visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.
