Jack H. Storey, 92, died Nov. 20, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 5, 1916, in Hartford, Ark., the son of John G. and Elizabeth Ann Lee Storey. He graduated high school in Hartford, and then attended Chillicothe Business College. A resident of Hutchinson for the past several years, moving from Fort Smith, Ark., he was a retired insurance agent for Donoho and Merry Insurance, Fort Smith, Ark.
He belonged to Goddard United Methodist Church, Amirita Grotto, Fort Smith, Hartford Masonic Lodge No. 609 AF&AM, where he was very active in the Demolay, he was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, and York Rite, where he was an officer and served as past president. Mr. Storey, was also very active with the Boy Scouts of America. He served in World War II, in the U.S. Army, in the Pacific Theater as a Sergeant Major, and operated searchlights and communications in Hawaii and the Gilbert Islands.
Survivors include: cousins, Janice Ebmeier and her husband Chuck, Hutchinson, Ed Gifford and his wife June, Manhattan, and Judi Dickmeyer and her husband Michael, Omaha, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a twin brother, Jesse Storey in 1921.
