Jack Edward Sutton, 86, died February 23, 2016, at Via Christi on St. Francis, Wichita. He was born June 29, 1929, in Douglass, to Alva and Lena (Riggle) Sutton. Jack graduated from Lamont High School in 1947 and from Emporia State University in 1951 with a double bachelor's degree in business and accounting. Jack was employed by Pierce-Faris in June 1951. He later became a partner and retired in July 1989.

Jack was very active within the community and his professional career. He was a member of Park Place Christian Church and served as deacon, elder, trustee, elder emeritus, and served on stewardship, property and search committees.
On June 8, 1952, he married Doris E. Bishop in Dodge City. They celebrated 63 years of marriage together.

Jack is survived by: wife, Doris, of the home; son, Michael D. Sutton, N.D., and wife Deb of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Pamela Hartzler and husband David of Harrisonville, Mo.; grandchildren, Jennifer Sutton Burns and husband Craig, Todd Sutton and wife Kelli, Whitney Hartzler, Stephanie Sharp and husband Lamont; great-grandsons, Dylan Burns and West Sutton; and sister, Patricia A. Sutton of Fremont, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jack Junior Sutton.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Park Place Christian Church, 2600 N. Adams, with Pastor David Dubovich officiating.
