Obituary

Jackie Jean Edwards, 65, died Feb. 10, 2015, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 2, 1950, in Wellington, to Jack V. and Doris J. (Norris) Amberg.

Jackie graduated from Wellington High School in 1968, Hutchinson Community College in 1969, and Wichita Beauty College in 1970. Jackie was a caregiver and loved helping people. She was a CNA for Hutchinson Hospital and Wesley Towers, a hairdresser and job coach.
On Sept. 5, 1970, she married James L. Edwards in San Diego, Calif. He survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Jamie L. Edwards and wife Laurie, Curtis Lee Edwards and wife Melissa; grandson, Braxton Lee Edwards; granddaughter, Breckyn Leigh Edwards, all of Hutchinson; father, Jack Amberg of Wichita; and sister, Robin Tompkins and husband Tom of Wellington.

Jackie was preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Amy Claassen officiating. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. The casket will remain closed. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
