Jackie M. Orr, 89, of Hutchinson, died July 29, 2019, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born August 30, 1929, in Hutchinson, to Lyle and Bessie (Fondaw) Smiley.

Jackie was a cook and cafeteria assistant at Hutchinson High School for 17 years and was known affectionately as 'Mom' to the students. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing the 'Jitterbug', but her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

On December 3, 1988, she married Jack C. Orr in Hutchinson. They shared over 30 years of marriage.

Jackie is survived by: her husband, Jack C. Orr, Hutchinson; daughter, Marsha Flummerfelt, Ulysses; son, Kelly Cox, Fordland, MO; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Joann Shotton, Ponca City, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael 'Mike' L. Hayden.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory.
