Jackie Banta left this life on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. She was born in Kansas, raised in Texas, returning to Kansas in the late 40's.

On February 1, 1949, she married her husband of 57 years, Jack K. Banta. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2006.

She leaves behind three children and their spouses: Mike Banta and wife Yvette, Kristie Empey and husband John, Lee Ann Tucker and husband Craig; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gwen Sherman. Preceding her in death was one brother and one sister.

Jackie was a former buyer for Pegues Specialty Store in Hutchinson. She enjoyed golf, baseball, reading, and her friends, but her family was her joy.

A private family graveside service will be held at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the book 9-9 Monday at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the American Heart Association, in care of the mortuary.
