Obituary

Jacqueline L. "Jackie" Spencer, 76, died March 21, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born August 13, 1936, in Hutchinson to Preston George "Dutch" and Mabel Louise (Hamby) Jenkins.

On July 9, 1954, she married Marshall Benton Spencer in Hutchinson. Jackie was a member of First Baptist Church in Maize, FCE Club in Mount Hope, and the Red Hat Society. She and Marshall were Winter Texans for the last 30 years.

Survivors include: her husband, Marshall Spencer; son, Robert Spencer and wife Patricia, Andale; two daughters, Anita Kraus and husband Bill, Colwich, and Glenna Schwartz and husband Chuck, Maize; two brothers, Bob Jenkins and wife Ann, Haven, and Gene Jenkins and wife Nettie, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at First Baptist Church, 627 South James, Maize, with Pastor Dale Kelley officiating. Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Hartford Cemetery, southeast of Emporia. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County in care of Elliott Mortuary.
