James "Jim" Byron Goodwin, 80, died October 4, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born November 7, 1934, in Geneseo, to Edgar and Velma (Crago) Goodwin.
Jim graduated from Geneseo High School in 1952, and was a machinist for Cessna and Eaton Corp. He retired in 1991. He was a member of the New Life Christian Church and the IAM union at Cessna.
He married Madeline Louise Smith on November 2, 1958, in Lyons. She survives.
Other survivors include: sons, James E. Goodwin (Sheryl) of Columbia, Mo., and Terry E. Goodwin of Maize; a granddaughter, Bryleigh Shepherd; a sister, Margie Donaldson of Junction City; and a niece, Karen Donaldson of Junction City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister and one brother, Crago Goodwin of Geneseo.
Cremation has taken place.
Private graveside service will be held at a later date. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
