James M. Brandt, 63, died May 29, 2009, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born October 19, 1945, in Hutchinson, the son of Ralph Emerson and Lenore Kathryn Parrish Brandt.
He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1963. He worked for Singleton Joyce Optical Laboratory for 33 years and recently for Moridge Manufacturing in Moundridge. James coached junior league baseball for many years and was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing.
On February 11, 1967, he married Kitty Collene Murphy in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Shawn Brandt and wife Wendi of Olathe, Troy Brandt of Orlando, Florida, and Michael Brandt and fiancée Deanna of Burrton; a sister, Sue Pauls of Hutchinson; a brother-in-law, Doug Murphy of Hutchinson; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial inurnment will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.
