Obituary

James Gregg "Campy" Fountain, 62, died Sunday, September 17, 2017, at his home in Big Lake, Alaska, surrounded by his family. He was born March 14, 1955, in Hutchinson, to James Harold and Wanda Louise (Holmes) Fountain. Gregg graduated from Nickerson High School 1973 and was a crane operator. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping in the great outdoors. Gregg was a member of the Reno County Community Emergency Response Team and First Christian Church.

Gregg is survived by: siblings, Sheryl Hoyle (Bruce), Robin Allen, Kevin Fountain (Patti Wyland); nephews, Jim and Larry McVey; niece, Kendra Hughes (Shane); great-nephews, Hunter and Korbin McVey, Maddox Hughes; great-niece, Keira Hughes; and best friends, Shawn and April Robbins.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Allen; and nephew, John Allen.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Alan Gager officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the family present from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Reno County Deputy Sheriff's Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
