James Milton "Jim" Ramsey, 89, died March 14, 2013, at Hospice House. He was born Dec. 19, 1923, at Abbyville, the son of Harvey M. and Virginia Kate French Ramsey.
Jim graduated from Abbyville High School in 1943. On April 8, 1946, he married June Gagnebin in Lyons, Kan. Jim was a farmer/stockman in the Abbyville area most of his life before moving to Hutchinson in 1993. He also worked 25 years as a welder at Cessna Fluid Power, Hutchinson, where he was a member of the IAM, retiring in 1986.

He is survived by: sons, Marc of Abbyville, and Craig (Rhonda) of Hutchinson; daughter, Rita (John) Balzer of Inman; and grandchildren, Samantha Jo Ramsey, Lydia Balzer and Mitchell Balzer. He was preceded in death by his wife, June, and a brother, Vernon.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, with Keith Dellenbach officiating. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
