James "Jim" C. Westfahl, 73, retired design engineer for Cessna Fluid Power Div., Hutchinson and Eaton Corporation, Eden Prairie, Minn., for 36 years died June 29, 2009.
He was born at Stafford, the son of Henry H. and Mattie Nation Westfahl. He lived at Arlington, Kan., during his youth. He was a graduate of Arlington High School and LeTourneau Technical Institute, Longview, Texas. He enjoyed traveling and doing woodwork projects. He was a charter member of Westbrook Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Eleanor; sons, Steven, Arlington and Mark (Heather), Walden, Colo.; daughter, Sharon Bollin, Joplin, Mo.; grandchildren, Samantha Jo and Henry Charles Westfahl and Reese Ann Bollin; other loved ones and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sheri Ann Westfahl.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Bob Shelton presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
