James Joseph "Joe" Kumorowski, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012. He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., the son of John and Louie Henderson Kumorowski.

He was a baker for over 55 years, retiring from Dillons Bakery in 1988 with 30 years of service. On Sept. 21, 1942, he married Margaret E. Helm in Hutchinson. She died Aug. 25, 2006. He is survived by: their children, Jo Ann and (Ernest) McDowell of Hutchinson, Pamela and (Ray) Nusspickel of Wichita, Tom Kumorowski of Winfield; a sister, Ada Makula of Chicago; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great- great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Edward; and two sisters, Tillie Paetz and Nadine Ditusa.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Abbyville Community Church, with Pastor Phyllis Role officiating. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
