James L. "Jim" Hauser, 77, of Hutchinson, died November 1, 2022, at his home. He was born February 19, 1945, in Ellinwood, to Elmer and Wanda (Miller) Hauser.

Jim graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1963. Over his life he worked in oil fields, as a machinist, and UPS driver. Jim belonged to the Machinist Union Lodge #1992. He loved to be outside with his dog listening to nature.

On April 2, 1983, Jim married Karen Kay Bayless, in Hutchinson. They shared 39 years together.

He is survived by: wife, Karen Hauser, Hutchinson; daughters, Gale Castor (Tim), York, Pennsylvania, Linda Cooney, Winfield; son, Allen Hauser (Mary), Arkansas City; stepson, Mike Lane, Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by: his parents; step-daughter, Monica Friesen.

Cremation has taken place and there are no services at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
