Obituary

James "Jim" Lowell Coultice, 85, died December 27, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born March 26, 1927, at Elkhart, to Fred and Minerva (Kifer) Coultice. Jim served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361.

He retired from Home Depot then worked at Star Lumber in Hutchinson for many years.

On February 10, 1964, he married Peggy A. Thompson in Clovis, NM. She died March 9, 2000. He then married Bonnie Horn. She survives.

Other survivors include: his daughter, Octavia Coultice, and her children, Dominic, Cedric, and Henric Coultice, all of Heidelberg, Germany; sister, Barbara King, Hutchinson; four stepchildren, Gregory Thompson, Hugo, Okla., Jo Jo Maloney, Baytown, Texas, Norris Thompson, Sawyer, Okla., and Tommy Thompson, Amarillo, Texas; six step-grandchildren, Direnda and Damon Maloney, Junior, Aleha and T.J. and Tony Thompson; four nephews, Jerry, Richard, Jimmy Joe, Billy Gose; and two nieces, Dorothy Schnieders and Dona Christian.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Ruby Masin, Dorothy Gose, and Beverly Nan Coultice and brother, Stanley Coultice.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Mark Conard officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Private burial will be in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
