Obituary

James M. "Jim" Parker, 84,died peacefully at Buhler Sunshine Home on Friday, March 18, 2016, of complications from Parkinson's Disease and heart issues. He was born April 16, 1931, in Newton, to Marion D. and Bessie Larine (Stutzman) Parker.

Jim attended school in Mt. Hope, Kansas, and graduated from high school in 1949. He attended Central College in McPherson, where he received his Associate's Degree and then Oklahoma A&M, where he received his Bachelor's Degree.

On July, 1956, Jim married Lola J. Williams in Denver, Colorado. They had two children. Lola died on November 10, 1985. On December 21, 1991, he married Delma Dailey in Hutchinson. She died November 25, 2012.

Jim worked at Consolidated Manufacturing for more than 30 years, retiring in 1996. He became a member of Bethany Church of the Nazarene in 1954 and was an active member of the choir and music program, and a mechanic for the bus ministry.

Survivors include: his son Carlin J. Parker and wife Valerie. Their children are Tyler (Lexi) Parker, and their children Jackson and Gradie; Travis (Amanda) Parker, and their son Colin; Colton and Sydney, all of Vero Beach, Florida. His daughter Nancy Hardon has two sons, Garrett (Sheena) Hardon and their children James and Levi, of Olathe, and Joel Hardon of Hutchinson. Second family daughters are Donna (Gary) Teter of Buhler, and their three children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; Linda (Ron) Coil of Hermitage, Missouri, and their son; Shirley (Larry) Barton of Queen Creek, Arizona, and their three children and four grandchildren; Sherry (Bob) Hauschild of Hutchinson, and their two children and three grandchildren; Peggy (Walter) Clark of Burrton, Kansas, and their two children and six grandchildren. Jim will be greatly missed!

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Bethany Church of the Nazarene, 408 N. Kent Road,. with burial to follow at Star Cemetery, Burrton. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, with the family present to receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Homecare of Reno County or Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas 67501.
