WINDOM - James O. "Jim" Vrana, 53, died Sept. 3, 2009, at his home, Windom.

He was born Nov. 27, 1955, in Wichita, the son of Othal Dean and Betty Jean Dutton Vrana. He graduated from Hutchinson Community College in 1996. A resident of Windom for 24 years, he was an Independent property manager.

He belonged to the Andover Lutheran Church.

On Aug. 6, 1977, he married Cynthia Marie Lien in Wichita. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, James O. "Joey" Vrana II and companion Devin Mobley and her son Roman, Mission; a daughter, Amanda M. Doucet and husband Kevin, Enid, Okla., and their daughters, Allyson M. and Jillian E. Doucet; and three brothers, Thomas and Susan Vrana, Overland Park, John and Linda Vrana, Wichita, and Chuck Vrana and Rose Poteete, Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at the Andover Lutheran Church, 115 Dakota Road, Windom, with the Rev. Tom Hallowell presiding. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The family requests that those attending the service to wear casual attire, preferably anything Harley Davidson and jeans.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Home Care of the Reno County and McPherson areas, in care of the mortuary.
