James "Jim" William Fowler, 68, died May 22, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born November 28, 1944, to John Cecil, Sr. and Lucile May Ringland Fowler in Wichita, KS. He was in the United States Navy stationed on the USS Ranger and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #6240 in Russell, KS.

On May 4, 1967, James married Sharon L. Hickey in Dodge City, KS. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Monty Fowler, Atlanta, Ga., and Jim Fowler and wife Edwana, Richford, Vt.; daughter, Jodi Fowler, Hutchinson, KS; grandson, Anthony (JR) Wilkinson, Hutchinson, KS; granddaughter, Jessica, Colorado; sister, Betty Barr, Hutchinson, KS; brothers, John Fowler, Jr., San Angelo, Texas, and Jack Fowler, Lake Havasu, Ariz. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Fowler, and sister, Alverna Thornhill.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 105 Curtis, Hutchinson, KS 67502, with Pastor Tim Carey presiding. Military honors conducted by United States Navy Honor Guard.
