Jamie Sue Borders, 67, died April 11, 2024, at her home.  She was born October 25, 1956, in Enid, OK, to James Sawyer Hightower and Mary Elizabeth (Hopkins) Hightower.

Jamie was a 1975 graduate of Hutchinson High School.  Her biggest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jamie enjoyed spending time outdoors and traveling. She loved life and lived it to the fullest!

On June 7, 1975, Jamie married Monte Borders, in Hutchinson, KS.  They shared over 48 years of marriage.

Jamie is survived by:  her husband, Monte Borders of Buhler, KS; children, Stacy (Billy Shumway) Borders of Hutchinson, KS, Kristy (Tim) Schwind of Mount Hope, KS, and Corey (Jami Bardshar) Borders of Winfield, KS; and grandchildren, Trinity Schwind, Kyndal (James Bynum) Borders, and Grant (Caitlin Stiner) Schwind.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Gary Lynn Borders.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.  Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.  The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Friday, April 19, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.  The funeral service can be viewed online beginning at 9:45 a.m. on the day of the service by going to Jamie's obituary on the Elliott Mortuary website and clicking on the link located at the end of the obituary.
