Jan S. Krouse Saylor, 54, died Jan. 24, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Jan. 24, 1954, in Topeka, the daughter of Everett and Dorothy Skalla Krouse. She graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in 1972, attended Ottawa University, graduated from the University of Kansas, and then received her master's degree from Wichita State University. A resident of Hutchinson, moving from Abilene and formerly of Wichita, she was an occupational therapist, working at hospitals in Las Vegas, Wichita, Salina and, most recently, Hutchinson.
She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, belonged to the Kansas Occupational Therapy Association, and was an active volunteer with schools in Abilene and Hutchinson.
On Nov. 26, 1983, she married Richard W. Saylor in Wichita. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Hannah Saylor, of the home; her parents, Hutchinson; and a sister, Carol Jemison, Pittsburg.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Conard, the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell and Bishop Scott J. Jones presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research or the Hutchinson Hospital Foundation - Jan Krouse Saylor Occupational Therapy Scholarship, both in care of the mortuary.
