Jana Dee Cannon, 60, died September 8, 2013, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born January 31, 1953, in Pratt, the daughter of Floyd "Smoky" and Marlene Swinson Ford.
She was a 1971 graduate of Pratt High School and attended Pratt Community College, Washburn and Emporia State Universities. Playing slow pitch softball was a favorite passion for her. Jana had been an accountant for Decker and Mattison and Sturgeon Glass and Mirror.
On November 1, 1974, she married Chris C. Cannon in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Jessica (Michael) Thornton, Nevada, Missouri; a son, Christopher, Dallas, Texas; her mother; two brothers, Eldon (Brenda) Ford, and Todd Ford, all of Pratt; two grandchildren, Shelbie and Jerron Thornton; an aunt Maribel; an uncle John Ford; and cousins, Randy (Jill) Ford, and Tamy Pollman. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents, Stanley and Jessie Swinson, and Guy and Lena Ford.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastors Bruce and Carol Miller officiating. Friends may sign her register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Private family inurnment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
