LERADO - Jane Reece, 94, died Dec. 26, 2005, at Hospice House.
She was born Dec. 19, 1911, in Fort Morgan, Colo., the daughter of Orin and Lizzie Long Ferguson. She graduated from Fort Morgan High School and attended Sterling College. A longtime Laredo resident, moving to Hutchinson in 1992, for a short time she taught at a one-room school in rural Sterling, then was a farm wife and homemaker.
She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, Triangle Study Club, United Methodist Women, YWCA and Wesley Towers Singers.
On July 26, 1933, she married John F. Reece in Fort Morgan, Colo. He died Nov. 23, 2003.
Survivors include: a son, Bob and his wife, Carol, Langdon; two daughters, Imogene Tilton and her husband, LaVerne, Hutchinson, and Carol Jane Toperzer and her husband, Tom, Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren, Noelle Regehr, Jeff Reece, Jennifer Miller, Mark Tilton, Sally Thorsell, Scott Toperzer, and Max Toperzer and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; and a sister.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nick Warner presiding. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Lerado Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
