Janet K. Bishop, 67, died May 20, 2014, at Good Samaritan Center. She was born August 31, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Marvin W. and Lucille D. (Smith) Hemphill. Janet graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964, and attended Hutchinson Community College. She had a real-estate company in the 1980's and owned a business in the 1990's that made specialty baskets.

On July 30, 1982, she married Glen D. Bishop. He preceded her in death.

Janet is survived by: daughter, Rita Wilson and husband Brook of Wichita; grandson, Jayden Wilson of Wichita; sisters, Sonja Gingerich and husband Mike of Hutchinson, Randi Belt and husband Roger of Hutchinson, and Sherry Osbourne of Venice, FL; companion, Scott Lofland of Hutchison; several nephews; and several great-nephews and great-niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Brenda Gingerich Barker.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Eldon Smith officiating.
