Janet Sophia (Lees) Kendall, 76, died unexpectedly after a long illness, on October 2, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born March 12, 1939, to Jack and Mildred Lees in Kingman.

Janet was a service technician at the Reno County Courthouse. She was a beloved mother and friend to all. Janet loved everyone she came into contact with, especially her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

On October 19, 1955, she married Richard "Dick" Kendall in Newton. He died on September 3, 1981.

Survivors include: sons, Russell Kendall and fiancé, Terri Napier, Wichita, Robert T. Kendall, Richard Kendall Jr., and Randall Kendall and wife Della, all of Hutchinson; brother, Donald Lees, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Brooke T. Baughmann, Amy J. Kendall, Randall Kendall II, Tiffany Yanez, Kyly Kendall, and Russell Kendall Jr.; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard "Dick" Kendall; twin sister, Janis Smith; and a son, Roger Scott Kendall.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the VFW Bob Campbell Post #1361, 328 N. Van Buren, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, with the family to greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
