Janet M Longenecker's Obituary
PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – Janet M. Longenecker, 93, passed away in Pauma Valley, Calif., April 6, 2015. She was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Kenneth and Arlie MacBeath. She graduated from Notre Dame de Sion Academy at age 16, one of only nine in her class. She then attended Stephens College and the University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo., majoring in economics.
She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
On Sept. 20, 1943, she married Jack E. Longenecker in Kansas City. She was a homemaker extraordinaire. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997.
Survivors include: two sons, Bruce (Jan) of Puma Valley, Calif., and Kent (Diane) of Hutchinson; a daughter, Betsy (Dave Dietel), of Grand Junction, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090 or Children's Mercy Hospital, 2401 Gilham Road, Kansas City, MO 64108.
