SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Janet L. "Jan" Melby, 48, died June 10, 2006, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, after a long illness.
She was born May 23, 1958, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Lloyd and Florence Long Pinkley. She graduated from Fort Collins, Colo. High School. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she worked at Kroger Accounting Services.
Survivors include: four sisters, Pam Melby, Karen Mitchell and Betty Carder, all of Hutchinson; and Judy Smalling, Wichita; as well as several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services will be held and cremation to take place. There will be no visitation.
Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, is in charge of the arrangements.
