Janice "Jan" Darlene Bolt, 88, died April 17, 2022, at Hester Care Center in Hutchinson, KS surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 11, 1934, in Hutchinson, to Eldon E. and Francis Marie (Hall) Hornish, and raised by her loving mother, who later married her stepfather, Lloyd Coffey.
Jan graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1952. She attended Hutch JUCO where she started to date the love of her life and also cheered for the various sports teams. She worked for over 33 years at Adams Investment Company in Bartlesville, OK, as the executive secretary. Jan served as a Den mother for her three sons, along with supporting them in all their school activities. No matter where she lived, Jan was always involved in church. She loved scrap booking and keeping/making family photo albums. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson and an active member of the DOERS Sunday school class.
On January 2, 1954, she married Edward Kent "Ed" Bolt, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. They shared over 68 years of marriage, and were inseparable.
Jan is survived by: her husband, Ed of Hutchinson; sons, Ben Bolt (Joan) of Norton, and Rod Bolt (Barbara) of Clarks Hill, SC; daughter-in-law, Kristin Bolt of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Will Bolt (Lorle), Joe Bolt (Amanda), Todd Bolt (Hannah), Lucy Jones (Bonner), and Jay Bolt; seven great-grandsons, Tyler, Tanner, Trevor, Cooper, Sutter, and Turner Bolt, and Callaway Jones; nephew and niece, Bill "Boomer" Hornish and Cindy Ratchford, and their families; and extended family, Jodi Blong (Brian), Teagen and Breckyn.
She was preceded in death by: her mother and stepfather; biological father; brother, Col. William Hornish, US Army, Retired; and son, Tom Bolt.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, with The Reverend Michael Tomson-DeGreeff officiating. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church or Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
