Janice (Jan) Kay Stewart, 80, of Nickerson, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born December 29, 1942, in Hutchinson, KS to Victor and Paula (Broughton) Stange.

Janice graduated from Nickerson High School in 1960, and went on to attend Hutchinson Junior College. For a time she managed hotels in Colorado and Texas, but the majority of her life was dedicated to her family as a homemaker. Janice had a green thumb and loved flowers and gardening. She enjoyed home decorating and did many DIY projects. Janice was also an excellent piano player.

She is survived by: sons, Michael McLemore (Carol), Nickerson, Shawn McLemore (Janie), Nickerson, Kip Stewart (Christy), Claremore, OK, Chad Stewart (Erin Thode), Hutchinson, Troy Stewart, Galveston, TX; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Herb Stange (Beth), Hutchinson; sister, Vicki Horton (Don), Hutchinson; and partner, Ellis "Kip" Stewart, Galveston, TX.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service will be 1 pm Friday, December 1, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Friends may sign the book from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Thursday. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial in Sterling Cemetery will take place at a later date.
