Janice E. Wiens, 58, died Sept. 26, 2012, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 13, 1953, in Hutchinson, to John and Gladys Olson Shook.

Janice graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1971, graduated cosmetology school, and was an acquisitions manager at the public library.

She married Larry Alvin Wiens on June 1, 1975, in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: son, Aaron Wiens and wife Kathy of Hutchinson; daughter, Katie Wiens and husband Brennan Smith of Newport News, Va.; grandson, Aaron Wiens of Newport News, Va.; mother, Gladys Shook of Hutchinson; sisters, Sharilyn Shook of Salina, Marcella Kille and husband Steve of Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Tricia Whitedove of Colorado Springs, Colo., Vicki Vincent of Hutchinson; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her father.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E. 30th St, with Pastors Tim Carey and Phil Vickers officiating.
