Janis Lorene Nash Vincent, 76, died April 7, 2013, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita. She was born Oct. 7, 1936, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Ray and Melba Bradford. She was a longtime Hutchinson resident, moving from St. Joseph, Mo. Janis was a beautician in her early years and then retired as a central supply supervisor for the Hutchinson Hospital.

On May 17, 1997, she married Gene Vincent in Hutchinson. He died April 16, 2001.

Survivors include: a daughter, Judith Chellew and husband Dennis of St. Joseph, Mo.; five grandchildren, Becky Gard of Wichita, Samuel Jackson and wife Natalie of Oregon, Mo., John Jackson and wife Lennie, Sarah and Jake Chellew, all of St. Joseph, Mo.; six great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Janiece Chaldecott and husband Larry of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and a sister, Loretta Fletchall of Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her husband; father, Ray Bradford; stepfather, James Edward Finch; and mother, Melba I. Finch.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Friends may sign the book today and Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Janis Vincent Memorial Fund.
