Jay "Deedee" Dee Mcconnell's Obituary
Jay Dee "DeeDee" McConnell, 77, died Feb. 8, 2015, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Harold and Helen (Rodine) McConnell.
Jay enjoyed being outdoors, watching car races and loved animals.
Jay is survived by: siblings, Larry McConnell and wife Betty, Dale McConnell and wife Susan, both of Hutchinson, Loren McConnell and wife Barb of Boulder City, Nev., Doug McConnell and wife Mary Lou of South Hutchinson, Cheryll McConnell of Haysville, Caryl Woerz and husband Alan of Hutchinson; numerous nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents and brother, Bill McConnell.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Jimie-Wray Mead officiating. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at the mortuary.
Memorials may be made to Thorne Care Center Nursing Unit in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501
