Jay D. Hurley, 68, of Hutchinson, died February 26, 2022, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. Jay was born July 23, 1953, in Dodge City, KS, to Robert and Naomi (Ferrin) Hurley.

Jay is a 1972 graduate of Lyons High School, received his Associates Degree from Hutchinson Community College and completed Sugar Camp Computer Programming School in 1985. Jay enjoyed making stained glass throughout his life and was a retired machinist from Eaton.

Jay is survived by: daughters, Celeste Hughes, Sterling, KS, Abbey (Scott) Travis, Colwich, KS; son Adam (Jessica) Hurley, Lenexa, KS; grandchildren, Tessa and Tayla Hughes, Tinley and Tanner Travis, Harper and Rowan Hurley; brother, Lyle Hurley, Redding CA; sister, Gail (Bruce) Allen, AR.

Jay is preceded in death by: his parents; son-in-law, Jared Hughes; and grandson Oliver Hurley.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
