Jay D. Wyatt, 50, died March 6, 2007, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born Jan. 28, 1957, in Hutchinson, the son of Wilbert M. and Virginia C. Smith Wyatt. He attended Hutchinson schools and later attended Washburn University for two years. He was a resident of Hutchinson, except for a period when he lived in California from 1984 to 1992, when he owned an orthopedic supply company. He was a car salesman for Jeff O'Neal Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, Hutchinson.
He belonged to Temple Baptist Church, was active in karate and enjoyed playing and studying the guitar and guitar music.
In 1975, he married Debra LaClair in Hutchinson. They later divorced. In 1981, he married Mary McMichael in Newton. They later divorced.
Survivors include: two sons, Mitchell J., Denver, Colo., and Michael J. and wife, Jamie, Topeka; his mother, Hutchinson; a sister, Virginia L. Brack, Hutchinson; two grandsons, Parker J. and Pierce Michael Wyatt; and a granddaughter, Paityn Lane Wyatt.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Phil; and a sister, Judy Stiggins.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Willard D. Stafford presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
