J.B. Stuckey, 79, died May 30, 2015, at his home, Hutchinson. He was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Sterling, the son of Joel N. and Reka E. (Sheel) Stuckey.
Following his graduation from Nickerson High School in 1953, J.B. began working for Hutchinson Foundry and Steel in 1955. He married Louise Cain on Nov. 14, 1954, in Nickerson. He began a career with Chalmers and Borton, Inc., in 1966, and retired as president of Borton, Inc., in 1984.
He was a lifetime (50 year) member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, served on the board of directors with the former Hutchinson Broncs baseball team, volunteered as a driver for the American Legion Post, worked for the Kansas State Fair in the Sunflower North building and was a 32 year member of the First National Bank of Hutchinson Board of Directors.
He is survived by: his wife, Louise, of the home; son, David and his wife Jennifer, Abilene, Texas; a daughter, Debbie Binns and her husband, Greg, Hutchinson; grandsons, Kyle Binns, Overland Park, Brad Binns, Hutchinson, Jayton Stuckey, Abilene, Texas; and a granddaughter, Haley Stuckey, Abilene, Texas. J.B. was preceded
in death by his parents, a brother, Dale Stuckey, and his sister, Jean Sturgeon.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Willard Stafford presiding. Following the service, the family invites friends to join them for a reception at the Sampler's Restaurant, located on the second floor of the First National Bank building. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the family to receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Cancer Council of Reno County, or Cause for Paws, both in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
