Jean Evans, 79, died March 15, 2008, at Hospice House.
She was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Bellbuckle, Tenn., the daughter of Pruitt and May Brewer Wood. She was a 1949 graduate of Woodbury, Tenn., High School. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to Eastwood Church of Christ.
On Oct. 28, 1949, she married William Dale "Bill" Evans. He died Feb. 28, 1989.
Survivors include: daughter, Martha "Marti" Miller and husband Brad, Hutchinson; brother, Morgan Wood, Huntsville, Ala.; sister, Mary McClearan, Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren, Jenni and Todd Masters, Overland Park, Kelli and Sam Allen, Albany, N.Y., and Chad and Jenny Miller, Lawrence; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ashlyn Masters.
She was preceded in death by a son Mike Evans, and two brothers, Bill and John Wood.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday March 18, 2008, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Richard Foster and Jimie-Wray Mead presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Peace Creek Cemetery.
