Jean Marie McKnight, 88, died November 16, 2024, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born September 1, 1936, in Hutchinson, to Gus and Florence (Graber) Boese.

Jean graduated from Kendall High School in 1954, Kendall, KS. She worked in the trust department at First National Bank, Hutchinson.

Jean enjoyed sewing, yardwork, cooking, and baking, but most of all, loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

On October 13, 1962, she married Richard Dean "Dick" McKnight, in Kingman. They shared over 43 years of marriage, prior to his death on August 6, 2006.

Jean is survived by: her children, LeAnn Cox of Hutchinson, KS, and Laurie (Michael) McKee of Gilbert, AZ; siblings, Neva Maerz of Lakin, KS, Janet (Raymond) Henry of Syracuse, KS, Betty Boese of Kingman, KS, Irma (Max) Voran of North Newton, KS, and Ken (Connie) Boese of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Morgan Beck, Madison Johnson, and Brady Cox; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Dick; sister, Irene McBurney; brother-in-law, Tom McKnight and sister-in-law, Rogene McKnight.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
