Jean Shull, 90, died March 13, 2008, at Hester Care Center.
She was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Clayton, N.M., the daughter of Chester R. and Oleta M. Bishop Davidson. She was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. She co-owned the newspapers at Burns and Potwin. She was a dental supply wholesaler, as well as a floral and gift wholesaler, in Wichita.
She belonged to the First Congregational Church and was a volunteer for the Reno County Food Bank and Reno County Museum.
On Aug. 23, 1948, she married Ray E. Shull in Omaha, Nebraska. He died April 27, 2001.
Survivors include: stepdaughter, Rajean Palmer, Tucson, Arizona; half-sister, Mary Lou Lacy, Enid, Oklahoma; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer Frey, Timothy and Jeff Palmer; several great-grandchildren; and special friends, Darrell and Nadine Ediger, Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Arthur CoyKendall.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2008, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford and Chaplain Randall Turner presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Memorials may be sent to the Reno County Food Bank, Reno County Historical Society, Hospice Care of Kansas, or the First Congregational Church, all in care of the mortuary.
