Jean V. Volin's Obituary
LYONS - Jean V. Volin, 87, died Nov. 12, 2006, at Thorne Care Center of Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
She was born July 30, 1919, in Pawnee Rock, the daughter of Eugene Fox and Alice French Bloom. She was a graduate of Pawnee Rock High School, class valedictorian. A resident of Hutchinson since 1994, formerly of Lyons, she was a retired county office assistant at Farmers Home Administration, Lyons.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Lyons, and was a former member of Charity Branch and Current Literature Group at the Church and former member of Li-Ar-Mu Federated Club, Lyons.
On June 20, 1944, she married Milton J. Volin. He died Jan. 21, 1967.
Survivors include: a son, Jim M. and wife, Marilyn, Overland Park; two daughters, Judith A., Glendale, Calif., and Sue Ann McDaniel and husband, Donald, Princeton; a sister, Reva L. Ross, Topeka; and a granddaughter, Jane Magathan-Krone, Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and parents.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Pawnee Rock Cemetery, with the Rev. Quentin Bennett officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Fund of Wesley Towers, in care of the funeral home.
