Obituary

Jeannice "Spottie" Posey, 78, died Dec. 27, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born March 6, 1929, in La Crosse, the daughter of Fred Arthur and Elizabeth Gross Erb. A resident of Hutchinson since 1945, she was a homemaker.

On July 28, 1948, she married Raymond "Spot" Snyder in Hutchinson. He died April 6, 1973. On Jan. 7, 1974, she married Edward E. Blair, in Coffeyville. He died Jan. 31, 1978. On Dec. 11, 1985, she married James Lewis Posey in Lindsborg. He survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Debra A. Bryan, Titusville, Fla., and Sheri L. Snyder, Hutchinson; two stepchildren, Dale L. Posey, Derby, and Brenda D. Way, Haysville; two brothers, Earl, Ness City, and Richard, Marshfield, Mo.; eight sisters, Marjorie Schaben and Evelyn Pitzer, both of Hutchinson, Gracie Risley, Dodge City, Leona Cheney, Hoisington, Rose Ann Floyd, and Jeannice's twin, Jeannine Hamilton, both of Marshfield, Mo., Shirley Erb, Mesa, Ariz., and Norma Janssen, San Diego; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, Pearl, Leo and Fred; and her beloved dog "Tippie."

Her body was willed to the KU Medical School for Science. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
