Jeffrey R. Dauber, 53, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 1, 1959, in Hutchinson, the son of Richard and Adrienne Dauber.
He was a member of South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, a 1977 graduate of Haven High School, and worked for his father for over 30 years as the maintenance repairman at Dan Dee Air, Inc. His hobbies included collecting crosses, knives, flashlights, flying radio-controlled airplanes and overhauling engines. Jeff had a great love for animals and was devoted to his pet cats, Inky, Snowy and Tip.
He is survived by his children: a daughter, Cherish Tadono and husband Katsumi; a son, Jacob Phipps; a grandson, Shouichi Tadono; his parents; a sister, Faith Krehbiel and husband Jack, all of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Eva Foos and Carl and Marie Dauber.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Elliott Chapel, with Reverend Jim Rhaesa officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to South Hutchinson United Methodist Church or Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
