Jerie Ann (Walker) Kahmeyer, 68, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016. She was born March 21, 1948, at Yates Center, the daughter of Robert and Leona (Yardley) Walker.

She was a 1966 graduate of Medicine Lodge High School and attended Cosmetology College in Wichita. She was the owner of Jerie's Beauty Salon for more than 40 years and then worked at Kwik Shop, retiring as store manager.

Jerie is survived by: daughters, Karla Kahmeyer of Overland Park, and Kristi Laing and husband Richard; and grandsons, Austin and Jacob Laing, all of Bonner Springs; siblings, Sherry Parrish of Arlington, Neb., Dennis Walker (Carol) of Medicine Lodge, Ginger Bowe (Deny) of Pratt, and Joetta Evans (Casey) of Benton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Jimie-Wray Mead presiding. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
