Jerrie Ann Pitts, 79, of Hutchinson, died April 20, 2026, at her home. She was born September 12, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Granville C. “Red” and DeEtta L. (Gilliland) Davis.

Jerrie graduated from Buhler High School in 1964 and attended college in Salina. She was the owner of B & J’s Smoke Shop for 14 years before selling it to her daughter, and continued to work there until just recently. Jerrie loved cooking, quilting, and spending time with family. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church.

On September 11, 1964, Jerrie married William F. “Bill” Pitts, in Hutchinson. They shared nearly 61 years of marriage before his death on February 23, 2025.

She is survived by: her daughters, Niki Pitts-Silhan (Ed) of Marion, Cynthia Denton (Ray), Shannon Kirk, all of Hutchinson; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; sisters, Barbara Barringer of Hutchinson, Theresa Salmans (Gary) of Newton; and many extended family members.

Jerrie was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; infant son, William F. Pitts Jr.; granddaughter, Shelby Olson; sister, Linda Brown; infant brother, Granville C. Davis Jr. and brother, Johnny Davis.

Cremation has taken place.

Celebration of Life will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Evans Chapel @ The Wesley, 3709 Asbury Place, Hutchinson. This will include a potluck dinner and attendees are welcome to bring a dish to share.

Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday thru Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Salvation Army, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
