Jerry J. Belcher, 79, died June 16, 2014, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born June 21, 1934, in Hutchinson, to James Jesse and Buda Irene (Towne) Belcher.

On Dec. 28, 1981, he married Alice Smith in Miami, Okla. He retired as manager of store services from Dillons in 1997. Survivors include: his wife, Alice Belcher of Hutchinson; children: Susie Grant of Aurora, Colo., Janie Hoefer (Gary) of Hutchinson, Dennis Belcher (Melinda) of Arlington, Tom Belcher (Jenn) of Hutchinson; stepchildren, Pam Heimerman of Hutchinson, Ron Smith (Sue) of Wichita, and Mike Smith (Lisa) of Overland Park; three sisters, Barbara Gass of Missouri, Nancy Vetter of Oklahoma, and twin sister, Diane Mendenhall (Richard) of Texas; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by: parents, James and Buda Belcher; sister, Doris Jean Pierce; son-in-law, Dan Heimerman; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Lee Keele officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
