Obituary

Jerry E. Bolte, 56, died Feb. 9, 2011, near Kismet, Kansas, as a result of a truck accident. He was born Dec. 1, 1954, in Salina, Kansas, to Max and Patricia Meade Bolte. He graduated from Buhler High School in 1972, and later from Salina Area Vocational-Technical School in Salina, with a Heating and Air Conditioning Certification. He had lived in Nickerson for the past 15 years; he was signalman for Union Pacific Railroad.




He enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles and playing poker with his buddies. He served in the U.S. Army.

On Sept. 26, 1986, he married Sheila Crouse in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Jesse, Hutchinson; a daughter, Nicole Bolte, of the home; his mother, Patricia Bolte-Howe, Buhler; a brother, Leslie, Hutchinson; and two grandchildren, Evan Bolte and Breanne Bolte, both of Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, with Dr. L.D. Holmes presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present to receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military graveside rites conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Fort Riley, Kansas.
