Jerry Dean Hatcher, 67, died Feb. 27, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born Feb. 26, 1942, in Pratt, the son of Thomas and Cleo Withers Hatcher.

He had attended Pratt schools. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he had been a welder and had worked for Stroberg Equipment for 12 years.

He loved to fish, play bingo and eat at China Star. His animal loves included his "puppers" and cat Kiki.

Survivors include: his wife of 34 years, Sondra Sue; three sons, Jerry L. and wife, Laura, and Terry and wife, Lisa, all of Hutchinson, and Tracey and wife, Angela, Topeka; a daughter, Kristin Markham and husband, Deno, Hutchinson; a brother, Leonard, Hutchinson; four sisters, Lila Mae Allen, twin sister Janice Tipton, and Linda Hatcher, all of Hutchinson, and Karen Thompson, Pratt; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William, and an infant brother, Tommy Lee.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Melvin Parrott presiding. Friends may sign the book from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday, all of the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to ARP (Animal Rights Protection) or American Heart Association, both in care of the mortuary.
